1998-99 – The Last Dance

The Bulls called the 1998-99 season “The Last Dance” understanding that this would be the last year they would all be together, as Bulls Management had decided that player changes would need to be made after this season since the star Players were free agent and to keep salaries within the NBA cap for the 1999-00 season.

The team was on a mission to end as Champions, and they did beating the Utah Jazz in 6 games.

MJ was a 6 time NBA Final Champion and 6 Finals MVP trophies.

Well card makers went crazy making WAY TO MANY brands, subsets, inserts, limited cards as the news was official that this will be the last year MJ and the Bull team will be together.

Card makers created more than a 1000+ different individual cards of Michael in just this year alone.

As a Collector, I decide to focus on collecting a few hard to find limited edition cards of this year, cards with photo’s I really liked, and then call this my final year to collect MJ.

The last card in my collection is a 1999 card by Upper Deck that was given to Upper Deck Employees from Management as a Christmas gift. The card features:
1) a swatch of his jersey
2) being individually number to 275
3) a photo of Michaels “final shot” in the last game as a Bull in the NBA Finals vs. Utah.

The card to me is a fitting way to end my collection with a photo of his final game winning in a Bulls uniform.
