1988 - Slamming His Way to the Top!

Fleer was the only company producing cards.

This year Michael Jordan was creating a stir as the best player in the league.

Problem was, if he is the best player, where are the championships? Since there was no “Supporting Cast” yet to help him, (they were recently drafted and being molded into Champions, Horace Grant & Scottie Pippen) then the All Star game in Chicago would be his showcase!

At the All Star game in the Slam Dunk competition, Dominque Wilkins and Michael were finalists for the Slam Dunk title. Jordan going last finished with a “take off from the free throw line”, soaring in the air, cocking his arm back jam, received a perfect score of 50 (five 10’s ) from the Judges and sealed the deal for the win of his second Slam Dunk trophy leaving no doubt who is the best.

Jordan then scores 40 points during the All Star game and is awarded his first All Star MVP award.

Fleer produced three cards:
· The regular # 17
· All Star # 120
· Sticker # 7
